The Wisconsin Chapter and the Western Section are extending an invitation to you to attend the 106th Western Section Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Hotel Sierra in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of the Green Bay Packers, NFL team.

The September 2010 meeting offers attendees the opportunity to be exposed to the 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC).  The meeting will feature the IAEI Analysis of the 2011 NEC. Members from the Code Making Panels responsible for writing the new code will be in attendance to answer your questions. All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the 2011 Analysis which is a $50 value.

The meeting will also feature the NEC Code Panel whose members who will be accepting questions from recognized industry experts.  Sixteen CEU credits will be awarded for the entire technical program.

The Hotel Sierra is in the middle of downtown Green Bay with shopping and excellent dining just outside your door. The hotel also provides shuttle service to tourist attractions and restaurants in the Green Bay area.

Austin Straubel International Airport is only minutes away from the Hotel Sierra and is served by American, United, Delta, and Midwest Connect airlines. Free shuttle service is provided by the hotel.            

The festivities will begin with the traditional welcoming reception on Sunday evening.  For
the spouse/guests, Monday and Tuesday will offer various activities in the Green Bay area including a luncheon cruise on the Fox River, a visit to a cheese factory and other sightseeing/shopping. Monday evening will be on your own and the banquet will be Tuesday evening.

The educational meeting will commence on Monday morning and end Wednesday at noon. More than the usual number of exhibitors is expected for this meeting.

Visitors to the Green Bay area will discover that there is much more to Wisconsin than cheese and football.  Excellent fishing is offered on the Fox River, Green Bay, and Lake Michigan. Guided fishing trips are available. Many museums are located in the Green Bay area, including the National Railroad Museum, which has many train exhibits and includes an open air train ride. The Oneida Nation Museum has many historical exhibits on Native Americans.  For Packer and NFL fans, a museum and pub/restaurant is located at the historic Lambeau Field. The Green Bay area is very scenic and can be enjoyed by hiking the many trails, by car, or even a cruise in a yacht on the Fox River or Green Bay itself.  Golf courses galore will please the golfers in your party.  Other attractions to mention a few are Zoos, Botanical Gardens, Wineries, Chocolate Factories, and Casinos.

There truly is entertainment for everyone. Green Bay is the oldest city in Wisconsin and was once the home of trading posts where beaver pelts were obtained for the making of hats. An important fact, did you know splinter free toilet paper was invented and first manufactured in Green Bay.

You might want to plan on an extra day or two in the Green Bay area as there is so much to see and do.
